Making Money On The Internet Has Never Been Easier
“Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.” — Ann Landers
We live in the 21st century. You can literally make over $100,000 per year by creating content on your laptop in your bedroom. Just a couple of decades ago, that would’ve been impossible.
My friend, it’s incredibly easy to improve your finances when you realize that opportunities to increase your income are everywhere. You just need to know where to find them.
So if you want to make money doing something you genuinely love, here’s how you can turn your dreams into a reality.
Recognize There Are Multiple Ways To Make Money.
Let me start by saying that there is absolutely nothing wrong with working a 9–5. Some people love it. Others need to put food on the table, put a roof over their head, and provide for their family. And a stable job is often the easiest way to make that happen.
However, it’s important to remember there are other methods of making money. After all, relying on one stream of income can be risky (especially in times of economic uncertainty like now). Quoting an article published by Forbes:
“More income streams equals more security. It’s hard to rely on a 9–5 job for your entire livelihood with layoffs and pay cuts always right around the corner. With multiple streams of income, on the other hand, you can avoid putting all your eggs in one basket.”
I was shocked when I found out that some people make money in their sleep. I genuinely thought people were joking. It sounded too good to be true. That was until I started doing it myself.
Admittedly, it was just a tiny bit of money at the beginning. But I didn’t care. When I woke up and saw that I made a few cents overnight, I was filled with immense amounts of joy. Over several years, those few cents have grown into several hundred dollars each day from writing, music, and various other streams of income.
If something isn’t impossible to achieve, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility.
Remember There Are No Get Rich Quick Schemes.
Contrary to what some “gurus” on the internet may say, a $1,997 course (probably) isn’t going to help you make a million dollars overnight.
Instead, you’re more likely to make a few cents during the beginning. Because unfortunately, there’s no such thing as an overnight success. As Chris Myers writes in Forbes:
“Everyone loves an overnight success story. Day by day, we’re inundated with tales of passionate entrepreneurs who find instant wealth, fame, and success. We buy into the glamor and often can’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy when looking at companies that seem to have it all figured out.
The truth, however, is that the easy overnight success is a myth. They’re a carefully crafted narrative, which we conveniently buy into as a form of wish fulfillment. Instead, the road to success is long, twisty, and fraught with hardship.”
There are no get rich quick schemes. If you ever see one, that’s just someone else getting rich off you.
Network With People In Your Industry.
According to Entrepreneur magazine, “networking is an extremely valuable way to develop your knowledge, gain knowledge from the success of others, get new clients, and tell others about your business.”
Find people in your industry that you look up to, and then create a strong relationship with them. For this, I use LinkedIn as it’s a great platform to connect with people in your industry and expand your network.
For example, while working in the music industry as a journalist, I wanted to connect with people at major record labels. So I began having conversations with executives, famous artists, and a variety of other people.
Networking helped me create countless opportunities to further my career as a journalist. Also, it led to a variety of consulting gigs that paid several thousand dollars per month.
Get your name out there. Make friends in your industry and network with as many people as possible. Your life & finances could potentially change for the better as a result.
Learn How To Sell Like A Pro.
Chances are, you’ve heard of the phrase “starving artist.” It’s a real thing. Most musicians I met while working in the music industry barely had a dollar to their name. They spent loads of time making new music but rarely bothered to learn marketing and how to sell.
It doesn’t matter if you’re amazing at writing, making videos, or anything else. If you don’t know how to sell, you’re (probably) not going to make much money.
Read books on sales psychology. Understand how to create content that people find valuable and meaningful. Find ways to monetize your work through ads, sponsorships, donations, or other means of generating a full-time income.
Grant Cardone once said, “the single biggest financial mistake I’ve made was not thinking big enough. I encourage you to go for more than a million. There is no shortage of money on this planet, only a shortage of people thinking big enough.”
Each of the above points has improved my life and finances for the better. And once you understand that opportunities are abundant, they’ll probably improve yours, too.
My friend, it has never been easier to make money online. Opportunities are everywhere if you have know where to find them. The only thing you need to do is put in the work to create the life you desire. So what are you waiting for?
