How I Became The Most Followed Creator On Newsbreak

Strategies that you can use to gain a following on any platform.

At the time of writing, I have 3,170 followers on Newsbreak. That’s more than any other writer in the creator program.

Despite what some people might think, it was no coincidence. Instead, I used a carefully planned strategy to accelerate my growth and receive over 500k page views within the first six weeks.

So what did I do? The answer is implementing three growth strategies that work for pretty much any platform. Each of them helped me to earn thousands of dollars and reach millions of people in a short amount of time. Hopefully, they will do the same for you, too.

Become A Content Chameleon.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a content creator on YouTube, Instagram, Newsbreak, Medium, or any other platform. This strategy will help you to create engaging content that people will enjoy. For example, I’ve found that relationships & politics seem to perform well on Newsbreak.

Become a content chameleon and adapt to whatever platform you’re on. Look at what’s trending. See what type of content has a lot of likes, views, and comments. Then, come up with some ideas that might appeal to the kind of audience that’s already on the platform.

Familiarize Yourself With The Tools You’ve Been Given.

Last night, I had a Skype call with one of my favorite YouTubers. I asked him what mistakes newcomers typically make on the platform. His response surprised me. “They don’t even familiarize themselves with the platform. Yet, they wonder why they aren’t getting any views. It’s crazy.”

If you’re on YouTube, spend several hours/days understanding how to rank videos, improve your titles, and various other things that contribute towards your success.

Likewise, if you’re trying to build a following on Instagram, look at the qualities of popular videos/reels/stories, and implement them into your own content.

On Newsbreak, there’s a follow widget that you can add at the bottom of your articles. So if people like your content, they can follow you without having to go to your profile.

Since I’ve published over 380 articles, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a few carefully crafted titles with a follow widget can plant the seeds of virality.

Each platform gives you a set of tools to become successful. You just need to figure out how to use them more effectively.

Find A Good Balance Between Quantity & Quality.

This is a discussion that many content creators seem to have. And like with any debate, I’m going to use my personal experience to give an informed opinion.

On Newsbreak, some of my articles have received 10 views. While others have received over 100,000. The truth is that I don’t know what will become popular and what won’t.

So instead of trying to write the “perfect” article, I just try to publish as much as humanly possible. That way, I have a much higher probability of writing/creating something that becomes incredibly successful.

It’s important to remember that there’s no universal answer to becoming successful on each platform. What works for some people may not works for others. You just need to experiment and do whatever works for you.
