As I’m constantly on the move, my routine is always changing. As soon as I get comfortable in one location, it’s time to move onto the next. In 7.5 days, I shall be flying to Singapore. Admittedly, I’m looking forward to being back in more of a western culture.

Anyway, today was focused on working towards my ambitions, and also exploring the city a little bit. But all of that was cut short…

Travel changed me… there’s no doubt about it. I remember boarding my first flight from London to Abu Dhabi during August 2017 on my way to Australia. I was nervous. I had no idea what was going to happen.

But then I stepped out of my comfort zone. I mentally embraced change. I wanted to Seek Discomfort. All of a sudden, I was extremely excited about the 21 hour flight ahead of me to Melbourne.

Over the past 18 months, I’ve managed to do 4 European countries, 4 Australian states, 3 Canadian provinces & 13 American states. That is just the beginning. During 2019, my aim is to visit at least 20 countries.

Do what makes you happy. Do whatever you love. Overcome adversity & become a legend.

7.30am.

I woke up and grabbed breakfast. 3 slices of toast. Two with Jam. One with Nutella. The coffee machine didn’t seem to be working so I ended up going to 7-Eleven and grabbing one there.

8am.

I’m almost finished listening to the David Goggins audiobook. It’s great hearing about his mental resilience as a navy seal. Definitely some lessons to be learned.

I set out a plan of what I aim to accomplish over the next 7 days. The way in which I do it is simply by evaluating my yearly goals, and writing down steps that will bring me closer to achieving them.

9am.

Wrote an article on optimizing your workspace to increase productivity. For some reason, my mental stamina isn’t very strong today. Not sure why. But it’s a sunday so I guess I’m allowed to take things easy.

10am.

Had a phonecall with some clients about upgrading my monthly fee in exchange for a higher amount of work. I haven’t agreed to it yet. I need some time to think over it — as my schedule is already reasonably busy.

11am.

Looked at flights from Dubai to Istanbul. the UAE isn’t exactly the most budget friendly of destinations. But I’ve always wanted to visit so it’ll be worth the expense.

I’m currently deciding how long I wanna be there for. One thing I’ve noticed is that i’m unproductive when I’m in locations for a short period of time. After all, I want to check out the city in which I’m in.

I’m tempted to do 10 days, and then head over to Istanbul for a while. That said, Greece is also on my radar. Maybe I could combine Istanbul & Athens before meeting mum in Budapest? We’ll see.

12pm.

Grabbed some chicken from a street food stall. It tasted pretty good. Also grabbed an ice cream whilst in the Park. Again, tasted incredible.

1pm.

Got back to my accommodation. Was really exhausted from earlier so I decided to grab an espresso. I felt much much better. That was proceeded by an episode of Shark Tank. Sometimes it’s nice to sit back & relax.

2pm.

Wrote another article. I then had a look at things to do in Auckland. THERE ARE VOLCANOES NEAR THE CITY. There’s also a few mountains in the North Island. I’m just thinking that it would be epic to say I climbed a Volcano AND a mountain during 2019.

3pm.

Started to feel unwell so took a break from my phone and laid down in bed.

4pm.

Food poisoning unleashed. Definitely not what I wanted on this trip. But I guess it was kinda inevitable coming to Southeast Asia.

4.45pm.

That’s the time now. I’m gonna call it a day and relax this evening. Hopefully I’ll feel much better tomorrow.
